A. Click "Browse" under the My Classes box to view a list of departments and classes from your school. Or, whenever you see a link to a class, you can drag it to your My Classes.

A. Currently, we are not supporting individual class sections, but we encourage you to send us a suggestion if you feel it would be a useful feature. If a class is missing from your school, please contact us so we can add it.

A. After clicking on a class, go to "Start class discussion" under your class's logo

A. From a classroom or question page, start a discussion, then click on "Live Sketchpad".

A. You can drag names that you see on Qaboom to your My Contacts, or type them directly by clicking "Add".

A. When a user is online, simply click on the green bubble that appears next to their name.

A. Tags are basically labels that let you easily categorize your posts. Simply type the tag, add it, and submit! You can add multiple tags at once by separating them with comas (e.g. "ajax, javascript, fun"). See how to choose effective tags.

A. Allowing others to view your question, especially students at other schools increases the chances that it will get seen, and answered. Some questions, however, may be more suitable for class viewing only--it's your call. Remember, all questions can be searched for, regardless of visibility.

A. If it moves, drag it; then drop it wherever you want. Most links found on Qaboom are cool like that. Try adding some buddies to your contact list this way.


A. Tags should encompass all specific and general subject areas that the question covers, particularly keywords that are not directly mentioned in the question. The best way to think of it is: "How would I want someone to search for my question?" For example, "How does Google make money?" might have the tags 'Google', 'monetization', 'internet', 'ad revenue', 'insane stock valuation'.

A. For the current Alpha release, we are only supporting Internet Explorer 6 and above, as well as Firefox 1.5 and above. Sorry Safari and Opera friends, but you'll be supported very soon.

A. Qaboom is anti-download and firewall friendly. Nothing on our Web site requires a plugin download, change of settings or update. We do have a few simple browser requirements: IE6+ or Firefox 1.5+ with other browsers coming soon.

A. Although visibility settings will prevent a question from appearing on certain pages, all questions and answers can still be searched. Any question you might have, is probably a question somebody else has as well.

A. All of our features are advanced! Just kidding... Wait till we break out of alpha. You ain't seen nothing yet ;)


A. We take our users' privacy seriously. Not only won't we spam you, but any important emails you get from us will be short and to the point.

A. Never! We will not disclose or profit from any personal user-identifiable data. Check out our Privacy Policy for details. Occasionally we may mention some cool statistics that we find out about our users in our blog, but everybody likes that.

A. You don't refer to your friends as wow4life or bAbYgIrL85 in class, so seeing actual names makes it less confusing in your network. Plus, this makes people more accountable for their actions. There's a lot of trust in our community, and we'd like to keep it that way.


A. We take our users' right to privacy seriously. Please contact us with the user's name and school, and a link to the offending post or a copy of the conversation.

A. As part of the Terms of Service, users are not permitted to knowingly post copyrighted material. Please contact us with a link to the offending page for prompt removal.
